This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out what is and is not allowed on Linkwards. It is part of our Terms of Service and applies to your account, your Page, everything you upload or link to, and how you use the app, our tools, and the Pages of other customers. The examples below are illustrative, not complete: if something is harmful, deceptive or unlawful, it is not allowed even if it is not listed.
1. General rules
- Follow all laws and regulations that apply to you, your business and your visitors, wherever you or they are located.
- Only publish content you own or have permission to use.
- Be honest about who you are and what you offer.
- Respect the privacy, safety and rights of other people.
- Do not use Linkwards in a way that harms or could harm the Service, our customers, their visitors or us.
2. Prohibited content
You must not publish, link to, store or promote content that:
- Is illegal or promotes or facilitates illegal activity, including fraud, scams, money laundering, counterfeit goods, unlicensed regulated services, illegal gambling, or the sale of illegal drugs, weapons or stolen goods.
- Sexually exploits or endangers children in any way. We report suspected child sexual abuse material to the appropriate authorities and terminate the account immediately.
- Is sexually explicit, including pornography and escort or adult services, or is otherwise obscene.
- Is violent, hateful or abusive, including content that threatens, harasses, bullies or incites violence or discrimination against people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic; or that glorifies terrorism, extremism or self-harm.
- Is deceptive or misleading, including fake reviews or testimonials, fake credentials or certifications, false claims about results, earnings or qualifications, impersonation of a person, business or brand, and phishing or pages designed to trick people into giving up money, passwords or personal information.
- Infringes intellectual property or other rights, including copyrighted images, video, music or text used without permission, counterfeit or knock-off branding, and content that violates someone’s privacy or publicity rights.
- Exposes private information about other people without their consent, such as home addresses, identity numbers, private photos or financial or health details (doxxing).
- Contains malware, or links to malware, ransomware or exploit kits, or to sites that attempt to install software or steal data without informed consent.
- Promotes dangerous or unregulated products or services where the law requires licences, registrations or disclaimers that you do not have or do not display, including regulated financial, medical or legal services, and unproven medical claims.
- Is spam, including mass-produced pages, doorway pages, link farms, or pages created primarily to manipulate search rankings.
3. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- send unsolicited bulk or commercial messages (spam), or send marketing messages to people who have not consented where consent is required, or ignore unsubscribe requests;
- use the booking form, newsletter section or contact details on your Page to collect information from people in a deceptive way, or to collect information that you have no lawful reason to collect;
- add tracking or advertising tools to your Page without meeting the notice, consent and legal requirements that apply to them;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, our systems or data, or probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service without our written permission;
- bypass or interfere with our security, authentication, bot protection, rate limits, plan limits or billing;
- use bots, scrapers or automated means to access the Service, create accounts, submit forms or generate artificial traffic, bookings, subscribers or analytics events, except as we expressly allow;
- reverse engineer, decompile, copy or resell any part of the Service, or build a competing product using our non-public information;
- overload or disrupt the Service, its infrastructure or other users, including by uploading unusually large or abusive volumes of files or requests;
- share, sell, rent or transfer your account, or create multiple accounts to get around limits, trial restrictions, suspensions or bans;
- claim a page address (slug) to hold it for resale, to impersonate someone else, or to mislead people;
- falsely suggest that Linkwards sponsors, endorses or is affiliated with you, or misuse any verification badge;
- use the Service to harass, stalk or intimidate anyone, or to collect information about people in order to do so; or
- help or encourage anyone else to do any of the above.
4. Content standards for specific features
- Testimonials and ratings. Must be genuine, from real customers who have agreed to their use, and not edited to change their meaning. Do not invent names, quotes or ratings.
- Prices and offers. Must be accurate and not misleading. Discounts and original prices must reflect real prices.
- Hero, media and content cards. You must have rights to everything displayed, including images, video, music and embedded or linked content from third parties.
- Locations and contact details. Only publish addresses, phone numbers and email addresses that you are entitled to publish.
- SEO fields. Titles, descriptions and keywords must describe your Page honestly. Do not stuff keywords or mislead search engines or visitors.
- Booking and newsletter features. Use the information visitors give you only for the purposes they would reasonably expect, protect it, and delete it when you no longer need it.
- Free tools. Do not use the tools to process files you do not have the right to use, or to create unlawful or infringing material.
5. Reporting a problem
If you see a Page or content that breaks this policy, tell us using the “Report a violation on this page” link at the bottom of any public Page, or email support@linkwards.com with the address of the Page and a description of the problem. For copyright and similar complaints, see Copyright and Content Reports. Please do not use the report channel to make claims that you know are false.
6. How we enforce this policy
We do not pre-screen Pages, but we may investigate and act on reports, automated signals, legal requests, or anything we otherwise become aware of. Depending on the seriousness, frequency and risk, we may:
- ask you to change or remove content;
- remove or disable specific content, links, media or sections;
- unpublish your Page, or suspend your account so that it cannot be edited or accessed by you or visitors;
- cancel or refuse a subscription and terminate your account, without a refund of fees paid;
- reclaim or reassign a page address;
- preserve and disclose information to law enforcement or other authorities where we think the law requires or permits it; and
- take legal action to protect us, our customers and the public.
We try to be fair and, where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you what we found and give you a chance to respond. We may act immediately and without notice where there is a risk of serious harm, a legal obligation, or an attack on our systems. If you believe we acted wrongly, email support@linkwards.com and we will review the decision.
7. Changes
We may update this policy as the Service and the risks change. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date, and may be notified in the app or by email.
