Billing and Refund Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

This policy explains how payment for Linkwards works. It is part of our Terms of Service. Current plans and prices are on our pricing page and in the app’s billing settings.

1. Free trial

  • Every new account gets a 14-day free trial. No payment card is needed to start it.
  • We will not charge you automatically at the end of the trial. Your trial simply ends, and your Page and public features are paused until you choose a paid plan.
  • We may send you an email when your trial has ended.
  • The trial is intended for one account per person or business. We may refuse or end a trial if we believe it is being abused (for example by repeatedly opening new accounts).
  • The features included in the trial can differ from those on a paid plan. The app shows what you have.

2. Paid plans and prices

  • We currently offer monthly Starter and Pro plans. The listed prices are per month and shown in US dollars unless the checkout says otherwise.
  • Each plan includes the features and limits described on the pricing page and in the app. We may update plan features and limits over time (see the Terms).
  • Prices shown may not include taxes. Where required, VAT, GST, sales tax or similar taxes are calculated and added at checkout by our payment provider, depending on your location and tax status.
  • The currency your bank charges you in, and any foreign exchange or card fees your bank applies, are outside our control.

3. Who processes your payment

Our payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record for your purchase. That means Lemon Squeezy takes your payment, issues receipts and invoices, collects and remits applicable sales taxes, and handles payment-related support such as chargebacks and card updates. Your payment details are entered on Lemon Squeezy’s checkout and are subject to its terms and privacy policy. We do not see or store your full card number. Your receipt will show the merchant name of our payment provider, which may not read “Linkwards”.

4. Automatic renewal

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until cancelled.
  • By subscribing you authorise recurring charges to your chosen payment method.
  • You can see your plan, renewal date and invoices, and update your payment method, from the billing settings in the app (“Manage subscription”).

5. Changing plans

  • Upgrading. You can upgrade at any time. The new features become available once the change is confirmed. Any proration or credit for the unused part of the current period is calculated by our payment provider and shown at checkout.
  • Downgrading. A downgrade normally takes effect at the end of your current billing period. If your content exceeds the lower plan’s limits, some of it may be hidden, disabled or uneditable until you reduce it or upgrade again. We do not delete your content just because you downgrade.

6. Cancelling

  • You can cancel at any time, with no cancellation fee, from the billing settings in the app.
  • Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access to your plan until the end of the billing period you have paid for, and then your account moves to the locked state: your Page is taken offline and public features are paused, but your content is kept so you can re-subscribe.
  • Deleting your account does not by itself cancel your subscription. Cancel your subscription first, then delete your account if you want to leave completely.
  • If you cannot cancel for some reason, email support@linkwards.com and we will help.

7. Failed payments

  • If a renewal payment fails, our payment provider may retry it over a period of time and notify you. During this period your plan may remain active.
  • If payment still cannot be collected and your subscription expires or becomes unpaid, your account moves to the locked state described above until you update your payment method and resubscribe.
  • You are responsible for keeping your payment details current.

8. Refunds

  • Because the trial lets you try Linkwards for free first, subscription fees are generally non-refundable, and we do not give pro-rata refunds for partly used billing periods or for unused time after you cancel.
  • We will, however, review refund requests fairly and in good faith, and we may at our discretion refund or credit fees where, for example, you were charged twice, you were charged after you properly cancelled, a serious problem with the Service prevented you from using it, or the law requires it.
  • To ask, email support@linkwards.com from your account email within 14 days of the charge, with your account email address and the reason. We aim to respond within 7 business days.
  • Approved refunds are issued through our payment provider to the original payment method, and can take several business days to show up.
  • We do not refund fees when an account is suspended or terminated for breach of the Terms or our policies.
  • If you are a consumer, you may have statutory rights, for example under the South African Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, or under the laws of the place where you live. Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot be limited by law.

9. Chargebacks and disputes

Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank, so we can fix it faster. If a payment is charged back or reversed without good reason, we may suspend your account until the matter is resolved, and may not accept future orders from you.

10. Price changes

We may change our prices. We will give existing subscribers at least 30 days’ notice of an increase before it applies to their next renewal. If you do not accept the change, you can cancel before it takes effect.

11. Complimentary access and manual changes

Our team may, at our discretion, apply a complimentary plan, trial extension, discount or other manual change to an account (for example as a goodwill gesture or to fix an error). These are recorded internally and do not create a right to keep the change; we may reverse them on reasonable notice.
